THE PINE TREE
When we first moved in the house here on Live Oak Island, one of the things that troubled me was the giant pine tree growing through an opening in the back deck. I've never been a fan of pine trees and the limbs, bark, straw, and sap that they tend to leave everywhere. Everyone I spoke to wondered, like I did, why someone would take the trouble to build a deck around the tree instead of having it removed.
I was neither comfortable with the root system being so close to our foundation nor the idea of a hurricane bringing it down on the house. And so, on December 4, 2018 (with the inspiration of Hurricane Michael only two months earlier) I decided to have it cut down.
We watched a team take down a similar sized pine tree across the canal a few months earlier and liked what we saw so I got in touch with them about our tree. With the risks that these guys incur and all the heavy lifting, all I can say is that these guys definitely earn their money!
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
